Thailand to tell it all at Seed and Need Seminar in Japan

Pathumthani, Thailand | Posted on December 5th, 2013

"We want to inform that Thailand is a key player in nanotechnology development" said Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Executive Director at NANOTEC. "The Thai government understands and realizes the importance of nanotechnology to strengthening economic development especially with the establishment of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. For this reason, the government is fully supporting nanotechnology development as can be seen in their push to include nanotechnology in various stages of the economic value-chain approach".
The nano fabric value chain activity is a good example of how far the government is willing to go to promote awareness of nanotechnology to the fabric industry.

The establishment of the National Advanced Nanocharacterization Center (NANC) which will begin operation in 2014 will be the first of its kind in Asia to test and certify nano properties in cosmetics, food, and packaging. The setups of the Good Manufacturing Practice Laboratory (GMP) at Nano Cosmecutical Lab at NANOTEC are just two examples of upcoming infrastructures that will enhance Thailand's position as a key nanotechnology development country in the region.

The Thailand Board of Investment BOI will also join the presentation to inform about their new investment promotion strategy pertaining to research and development that will support the drive for economic restructuring in Thailand.
Thailand is looking to entertaining a full house at the Need and Seed Seminar at nanotech 2014
