AtMol launches its third event International Workshop: Imaging and manipulating molecular orbitals (Berlin-Germany: September 24-25, 2012)

Berlin, Germany | Posted on June 13th, 2012

This workshop is open for contributors in the fields of single atom and molecule atomic and molecular orbitals imaging using for example the FEM, TEM, PE, Attosecond Tomography, NC-AFM or LT-UHV-STM instruments. Experimental demonstrations of a technical way to manipulate reproductively single orbitals on a single molecule are also welcome. Contributors on the field of image calculations and interpretations for all the above mentions microscopy or techniques are also invited to contribute. Interested participants can submit a one-page abstract before June 30, 2012.

Confirmed Invited Speakers (as of June 13, 2012):

· R. Berndt (Kiel University - Germany)

· S. Godlewski (AtMol consortium, Jagellonian University - Poland)

· L. Gross (IBM Zurich - Switzerland)

· O. Guillermet (AtMol consortium, CNRS-CEMES - France)

· M. Képénékian (AtMol consortium, CIN2 - Spain)

· M. Koshino (AIST Tsukuba - Japan)

· C. Manzano (AtMol consortium, IMRE - Singapore)

· G. Meyer (IBM Zurich - Switzerland)

· P. Moriarty (AtMol consortium, Nottingham University - UK)

· M. Portais (AtMol consortium, CNRS-CEMES - France)

· M. G. Ramsey (Graz University - Austria)

· F. Remacle (Université de Liège - Belgium)

· M. Rezeq (Khalifa University - Jordan)

· M. Rontani (Modena University - Italy)

· P. Salieres (IRAMIS CEA - France)

· W.Y. Soe (AtMol consortium, IMRE - Singapore)

· M. Verot (ENS Lyon - France)

This International workshop, the third of AtMol series will bring together groups from all over the world working on the theory or the experimental recording of the electronic cloud of a single atom or molecule and when possible its description and detail experimental capture on the basis of the molecular orbitals concept.

About Phantoms Foundation
This Non-Profit organisation was established on November 26, 2002 (Madrid, Spain) in order to provide high level Management profile to scientific projects. This association plays an important role in the 7th Framework Programme as a platform for European funded projects (nanoICT, AtMol, nanoCODE, etc.) to spread excellence amongst a wider audience and to help in forming new networks. Phantoms Foundation is now a key actor in structuring and fostering European Excellence in “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology”, having a world leading position in organising conferences, training and dissemination activities in this field.

AtMol

This European project open the atomic scale era of molecular computing integrating state of the art atomic scale technologies, new quantum architectures with multi-scale interconnection and packaging techniques for a single molecule to compute and be packaged into a molecular chip. The AtMol Integrated Project and its related “dissemination & training” activities are going to provide both academic researchers and industry engineers access to the tools needed to be at the forefront of the atomic scale technology revolution, a revolution beyond nanotechnology.
