Boat tour of area is part of World Congress on Environmental Health
Abstract:
Two presentations will look at the role of nanotechnology and health. Maurice Brennan of the U.K.'s University of Birmingham will discuss the potential risks of nanoscience in a talk called 'Brave new world or environmental health disaster.' Jim Dingman of the U.S.-based product safety company Underwriters Laboratories will talk about the potential impact of nanotechnology on food safety.
"It's the similar concern that people have around genetically modified food -- to open Pandora's box without fully understanding the implications of what these have on human health," said Losito.
