Nanostart-held ItN Nanovation signs cooperation agreement with leading Italian builder of wastewater treatment facilities

Saarbrücken / Frankfurt | Posted on August 4th, 2010

ItN Nanovation AG (ISIN DE000A0JL461), a portfolio company of Nanostart AG, yesterday announced the signing of a major cooperation agreement with one of Italy's leading builders of wastewater treatment facilities. Under the newly signed agreement, Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente S.p.a. has committed itself to exclusively use the CFM Systems® ceramic flat filter membrane technology from ItN Nanovation in the construction of its future wastewater treatment facilities.

With this new partnership, ItN Nanovation has made a significant inroad not only in the Italian market for wastewater treatment, which is the third largest in Europe, but also in the similarly important markets of France, Spain and the UK. The deal thus opens significant additional revenue potential to ItN. In addition to use within conventional wastewater solutions, the two partners also see the potential for use in new applications for water treatment.

Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente, founded in 1966, is a plant manufacturer, focused on cleantech solutions. In its water division, the innovative company is specialized in wastewater treatment, and rainwater treatment. The company has local offices to support its business activities in the UK, France and Spain.

"That a technology leader in wastewater treatment facilities like Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente has decided to exclusively use our ceramic flat filter membranes is yet another demonstration of the superb performance that CFM Systems® can uniquely provide," said Lutz Bungeroth, CEO of ItN Nanovation. "We are currently negotiating further cooperation arrangements along these lines in other highly promising markets. There's a lot of interest in what our technology can do."
