It’s myth & match on start-up street
Abstract:
Harvard chemist George Whitesides, who got the first UDCT Alumni Association (UAA) Dhirubhai Ambani Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday, has a golden touch that the late patriarch of Reliance Industries would have loved. The companies that Mr Whitesides helped start, such as Genzyme, Geltex, Theravance, and Surface Logix, are now worth $25billion in market capitalisation. "That works out to a billion dollars a year," the 67-year-old scientist told ET before the investiture.
