Abstract:
Nanotechnology, with its catchphrase "better, stronger, lighter, cheaper, faster," is in use in:
* Sunscreens that protect skin without the ugly white coating of older lotions.
* Clothing that repels the sun and sheds rain using nanoparticles of zinc oxide.
* Lighter, stronger tennis racquets and baseball bats.
* Medical face masks able to keep out the tiny particulates of the swine flu virus.
Even more impressive developments are on the way, nanotechnology's supporters say.
