2nd International Conference on Infectious Diseases & Nanomedicine (December 15-18, 2015, Kathmandu, NEPAL)

Kathmandu, Nepal | Posted on January 22nd, 2015

International Conference on Infectious Diseases and Nanomedicine (ICIDN)-2015, the second edition of the ICIDN series focused on microbiology, infectious diseases, material sciences and nanotechnology, is being organized by Nepalese Forum for Medical Microbiology (NFMM) and Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI), according to a statement issued by the organizers.
Professor Rameshwar Adhikari (from Kathmandu based Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University), the President of NPI and Convener of the event, said "ICIDN-2015 will provide the unique global platform for presentation and sharing of innovations related to infectious diseases, and nanomedicine from both the academia and industries. The conference will be accompanied by one day pre-conference workshop on related topics targeted to students and young scientist. The workshop and the accompanying conference are hoped to be the milestone in promoting education and researches in the field of microbiology, infectious diseases, advanced materials, and nanotechnology in Nepal." Prof. Adhikari further added, "This conference is hoped to intensify the scientific ties and network of biomedical scientists from South Asian region to the rest of the world."

Santosh Thapa, Co-convener of the event (PhD Scholar at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas, USA), said "Emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, drug design, drug delivery, nano- and biomedical materials will form an integral part of the ICIDN-2015." Mr. Thapa further mentioned "this tri-annual series of conference is aimed at fostering interdisciplinary collaborative education and research in the field of microbiology, material sciences, chemistry, and other clinical and biomedical sciences for the benefit of humankind."

This is an excellent opportunity for the local students and researchers to learn about the ongoing global issues and challenges in the field of microbiology and material science and nanotechnology, said Dr. Netra Lal Bhandari, the Conference Secretary.

The organizers would like to invite you to participate and contribute in the ICIDN-2015 and eagerly looking forward to welcome all of you in December this year in Kathmandu.
