Abstract:
Iranian researchers from Mashhad Branch of Islamic Azad University studied different parameters effective on the mechanical properties of graphene sheets under load.
Results of the research will help the prediction of behavior of graphene structures and the production of objects with higher quality.
Developing correlations and equations and studying the effects of various parameters, including small scale, to comprehensively and accurately study the stability of graphene nanosheets were among the objectives of the research.
This research precisely investigates the effect of load distribution and intensity on buckling modes and other parameters. The results are can provide appropriate approximation of the behavior of some of important parameters such as small scale. Therefore, the objectives will be achievable by carrying out a few simple calculations as well as the production of science. This fact may be important in controlling intelligent systems and in prediction of graphene structures behavior.
Therefore, the presented correlations can be used in all issues in which the graphene sheet is imposed to axial loads. For instance, mention can be made of the prediction of graphene behavior in accurate and advanced sensors, super capacitors, composite strengthening, atomic force microscopes, batteries, and so on.
Results of the research have been published in Composite Structures, vol. 119, issue 1, 2015, pp. 238-250.
