Abstract:
The 13th Nano Week Exhibition in Iran, hosted by Qom city, was held from March 4 to 6, 2012, with over 2,000 student visitors.
In addition to becoming familiar with the applications of nanotechnology, 2,800 students from 45 schools in Qom Province visited the activities presented in the Nano Week Exhibition.
Among the educational programs of the exhibition, mention can be made of organizing of a seminar to introduce basic concepts of nanoscience and nanotechnology, displaying nanotechnology based products in various industries such as textile, agriculture, home appliance and cosmetics, nano cinema, introducing Nano Hour Monthly, and organizing a competition entitled Students' Ideas.
In addition, of 257 students interested in taking part in the Third Nanotechnology Olympiads for Students, 35 students interested in joining Nano Reporters Club carried out the registration process in person.
'Simple Nanotechnology Experiments' was the title of another section of the exhibition in which the students observed the synthesis stages of iron oxide nanoparticles and the production of magnetic nanofluid. Students also selected the subject of students' projects in the field of nanotechnology by using the scientific consultation of the experts from Nano Club.
