Engineers Must Invent New Energy Efficiency Technologies
Abstract:
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan urged engineers on Monday to invent new technologies for more efficient power generation and better waste management and utilisation.
He said engineers must come together to find ways "to effectively reverse the depletion of natural resources and the destruction of Mother Earth."
"Engineers must work hard to produce more efficient engines, build energy conserving buildings as well as come up with technologies to turn wastes into useful resources and energy," he said when opening the 4th World Engineering Congress here Monday.
Among topics to be discussed at the four-day congress until Thursday are education and training, renewable energy, carbon emission, nanotechnology, nuclear engineering, natural and man-made disasters, aerospace and green technology.
