Science symposium matches research to investors
Abstract:
A biology professor at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is looking for ways to use algae to make items ranging from rubber to biofuels.
Toivo Kallas said he hopes the research will be far enough along a year from now to market the idea to businesses at the next Wisconsin Science & Technology Symposium.
By talking to researchers studying nanoscience, for example, John said doctors can "understand how nanotechnology can be used in medicine."
"We are also looking for our private sector to take these technologies and convert them into more jobs," John said.
