Abstract:
Ray Baughman, director of the Alan G. MacDiarmid NanoTech Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas, recently was named a Yang Shixian Professor by Nankai University. The professorship is the university's highest honorary title. The recognition honors Baughman's achievements in the field of nanotechnology, including the development of artificial muscles based on carbon nanotubes.
"UT Dallas is indeed honored to be professor Baughman's home institution," said Myron Salamon, dean of UTD's School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. "He personifies our quest to achieve national prominence."
