'God Loves Science' — and the First Congregational United Church of Christ will show kids that this Saturday
Abstract:
The event, called "God Loves Science," is intended to help kids understand that "science and religion are not incompatible," said Jeff Rabe, the church's director of Christian education for children and youth.
Jim Taylor, another scheduled presenter and a retired UW-Madison chemist, said that as a researcher, science prompted him to keep seeking answers while religion gave him hope that the pursuit was worthwhile. He spent much of his career in nanoscience, the study of matter 100,000 times smaller than a strand of hair.
Taylor said his table at the fair will display nanotechnology circuits with this sign: "If you can't see it, it may still be there."
