Nanoscale Measurement Challenges for Energy Applications Global Workshop
Abstract:
The demands for increased energy efficiency, low cost energy production, and use of renewable energy have never been greater.
Story:
Nanotechnology holds the key to addressing these needs. Acceleration of nanoscale solutions for energy applications requires new or improved means of measuring physical phenomena.
The objective of this workshop is to identify the "grand challenges" for measurement of properties at the nanoscale.
Invited speakers from NIST, NREL, and CNSE and other organizations at the forefront of nanotechnology will make presentations followed by open discussion to explore the following topics:
Current properties measured at the nanoscale for energy applications
Current measurement techniques and improvements that may be valuable
Desired measurements that cannot be made today and anticipated value to the scientific community
