Conference showcases nanotech
Abstract:
The growing field of nanotechnology and the products it yields will be showcased today and Friday in a combined NanoFocus and Oklahoma EPSCoR Annual State Conference at the Cox Convention Center.
The conference will present the impact of nanotech in Oklahoma, as well developments in the area of biofuels and plant viruses, biodiversity and ecology. About 250 people have registered for the free event at the Oklahoma Nanotechnology Initiative's Web site, www.oknano.com.
"We have doubled our participation from last year," said Jim Mason, executive director of the Oklahoma Nanotechnology Initiative.
The event will feature 48 speakers and breakout sessions in three tracks on both days, Mason said.
The 12 Oklahoma companies that have applied for Oklahoma Nanotechnology Application Program grants will be introduced at the conference.
