Abstract:
QD Vision has introduced a 2mm wide quantum dot optic, expanding the market for the industry's best color to ultra-slim displays such as LCD monitors, all-in-one computers and televisions. The new Color IQ™ optical component represents a 33% width reduction from the 3mm optic, making it the thinnest quantum dot, full-gamut color solution available today.

QD Vision Expands Product Line with Two-Millimeter Color LCD Display Optic: Color IQ™ Optic Enables Full-Color Gamut for Ultra-Thin Displays and All-in-One Computers

Taipei, Taiwan | Posted on April 16th, 2015

QD Vision's newest optical component is compatible with LCD systems using 2mm light guide plates, supporting display manufacturers' drive toward thinner designs and smaller form factors. This streamlined optic demonstrates QD Vision's continuous leadership in quantum dot (QD) innovation, with the first commercially-available QD Color IQ televisions, first QD Color IQ desktop monitors, and emerging standards such as Rec. 2020.

"Market adoption of our cost-effective, high-performing quantum dot technology has led to expanded product offerings for our customers, enabling manufacturers to create affordable consumer electronics with stunning color quality," said Matt Mazzuchi, Vice President Market and Business Development, QD Vision. "Our new 2mm wide optic pushes the boundaries of ultra-thin display design and performance."

"Quantum dot technology is one of the biggest breakthroughs for LCD in recent years," said Dr. Jennifer Colegrove, CEO and principal analyst at Touch Display Research, Inc. "We forecast that, by 2025, 60% of TVs will have quantum dots in them." Touch Display Research recently published their second edition of the Quantum Dot Display and Lighting Technologies and Market Forecast Report, available at www.touchdisplayresearch.com.

QD Vision's Color IQ quantum dot optics are currently used by TV and computer monitor manufacturers worldwide to achieve more than 100% NTSC and 99% Adobe color gamuts at an affordable price. The new 2mm wide optic is available for sale beginning immediately.
