Abstract:
Chemists from Iran's University of Mazandaran achieved a precise method for the simultaneous measurement of biological materials dopamine and ascorbic acid with an electrode modified by gold nanoparticles.
Roudabeh Valiollahi, MSc in analytical chemistry, designed and synthesized a gold electrode modified by a self-assembled monolayer containing gold nanoparticles in order to measure dopamine and ascorbic acid on its surface at the same time and through an electrochemical method.
"In this research, ascorbic acid and dopamine were measured on the surface of the electrodes at nanometric scale," she told the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council.
"Having an appropriate linear concentration range, low determination edge, and the possibility of simultaneous measurement are among the advantages of this method," Valiollahi added.
"The suggested method in this research can be applied in clinical and pharmaceutical laboratories," the Iranian researcher concluded.
