Ireland can be nanotechnology centre
Abstract:
Forfás has issued a report which says Ireland can become a centre of knowledge and innovation for niche areas of nanotechnology.
A nanotechnology co-ordinating group is to be set up by the Government to oversee and manage the policy laid out in Ireland's Nanotechnology Commercialisation Framework 2010-2014.
Chaired by Martin Cronin, the nanotechnology co-ordinating group will comprise industrialists, academics and the enterprise development agencies.
The Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Conor Lenihan, said: "Government has invested wisely in nanotechnology in recent years and Ireland now has a world-class nanotechnology infrastructure."
