Graphene production goes industrial

Abstract:
A single plane of carbon atoms, graphene can be isolated using an exceedingly simple method: In 2004, the University of Manchester's Andrey Geim and colleagues used common, clear cellophane tape to peel off weakly bound layers from bulk graphite. That process can produce millimeter-sized graphene flakes and is still common, particularly among researchers exploring graphene's astonishing electronic properties. Many applications, though, require a large, continuous sheet of graphene.
