For the record 23 January
Abstract:
Elsewhere, Ireland's first purpose-built nanoscience research institute has been officially opened at Trinity College by the Taoiseach. The new facility, which is housed in the Naughton Institute, is part of a EUR100 million investment for nanotechnology in Ireland and is known as the Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices (CRANN). The CRANN centre has received funding of EUR74 million through Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). Trinity also plays host to the world's first science gallery, which contains science and technology exhibitions aimed at young people. The gallery will open at the beginning of February with Lightwave, a nine-day festival that explores light in science, technology and art.
