Central team to visit CU today
Abstract:
While a parliamentary committee is scheduled to visit Calcutta University (CU) tomorrow to assess fund utilisation for the Centre-sanctioned nanotechnology project worth Rs 100 crore, the university has promised to provide a detailed project progress report to its teachers within fifteen days.
This comes soon after charges of nepotism and lack of transparency were leveled against the premier institute by teachers.
CU identified research as a major thrust area on its completion of 150 years.
