Abstract:
Consider the fields of biotechnology and nanotechnology. Both deal with processes too small to see. To understand and control these interactions, our technologists have invented sensors that can peer at molecules. The amount of data gathered is so huge that it has created a need to create software to analyze the results. And so it goes, with each new tool exposing new layers of the unknown, raising new questions and prompting further inquiry.
