Qunatum Dots Invade CES (a Ballad)
Tammy Gordin

Quantum dots, nanocrystals composed from semiconductor materials small enough to exhibit quantum mechanical properties, have excitons confined in the three spacial dimensions. This year, at the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, NV, there were hundreds of screens lit up by Quantum Dots as companies like Samsung and LG introduced their 4K TV lineups. repeated friction 1
Tammy Gordin

I got the idea for this poem from the MIT Research paper titled: Deformation, structural changes and damage evolution in nanotwinned copper under repeated frictional contact sliding (see link below)

Deformation was studied, with a scanning electron microscope to monitor deformation-induced structural
changes as a function of the number of passes of repeated frictional sliding.

i saw a certain beauty in this, and wrote a poem about it. Read the Whole Article
