Abstract:
Quantum dots, nanocrystals composed from semiconductor materials small enough to exhibit quantum mechanical properties, have excitons confined in the three spacial dimensions. This year, at the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, NV, there were hundreds of screens lit up by Quantum Dots as companies like Samsung and LG introduced their 4K TV lineups.
