Growth of Nanotechnology Guaranteed in Iran

Tehran, Iran | Posted on October 10th, 2012

"There exist over 15,000 nanotechnology experts and specialists at levels of MSc and higher education levels aw well as active bodies in the field of business. It means that nanotechnology has been guaranteed in our country," Head of Human Resources Development Workgroup of the INIC Dr. Mehdi Rezayat stated, addressing the Fifth Iran Nano Exhibition held in Iran from October 4 to 8.

Pointing to the participant companies in the Fifth Iran Nano Festival, Rezayat said, "A noticeable number of participating companies in this festival, especially in the field of business and production, had participated in previous year's festival too. However, the difference is that the participation of the companies is accompanied with the presentation of products. In other words, it means that the companies have succeeded in selling their products in the competitive market."

Elaborating on the role and importance of human resources in the field of nanotechnology, he said, "The first ring in the chain of science and wealth is the production of science and human resources development. I'm glad to announce that there exist over 15,000 nanotechnology experts and specialists at levels of MSc and higher education levels aw well as active bodies in the field of business. It means that nanotechnology has been guaranteed in our country because human resources play the main role in all aspects."

According to Dr. Rezayat, Iran, by publishing more than 2300 ISI-indexed papers, has definitely possessed the 9th rank in the world in the past 9 months in the publication of articles in reliable journals in the field of nanotechnology. There is a large difference between Iran and the 10th rank in the world, while there is a small difference between Iran and the 8th rank in the world, Britain.

Head of Human Resources Development Workgroup of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council continued, "Iran's rank shows that the main chain and infrastructure of human resources development and science production have been established in the country, and it has insured the country's industry."
