Abstract:
Iran's leading automaker Iran Khodro Co. (IKCO) has announced a plan to design and develop its first CNG-electric hybrid power train within turbocharged technology.
According to an IKCO statement, the company's turbocharged engine is programmed to be mounted on Soren ELX.
Possessing the fifth rank in Asian car manufacturing companies, IKCO has recently planned a comprehensive program to design and develop two new platforms and eleven new products within the next seven years.
The company also seeks to increase Runna's production to around 150,000 units per annum, 25 percent of which will hit overseas markets.
IKCO that possesses 50 percent of domestic market share is planning to design its platform with the cooperation of other carmakers.
The company was founded in 1962 and is currently regarded as one of the biggest automakers in the Middle East.
IKCO won an award from Tehran's Third International Nanotechnology Festival in 2010, as the leading company in nano-related auto industry.
