NANOTECH: Regions, Universities Vie to Become R&D Hubs

Abstract:
The article says that cities, states and regions in the United States are vying to become nanotech hubs, hoping nanotechnology will create thriving industrial centers in their communities. Forty-seven states and the District of Columbia have at least one organization working in nanotechnology, with the states of California and Massachusetts dominating research development, followed closely by New York and Texas. At least 138 universities and government labs are working on some aspect of nanotechnology, according to the Project on Emerging Technologies (PEN).
