Plastics Behind Bars
Abstract:
The key to this innovation lies in the admixture of an additive of finely dispersed nanoparticles. These newer plastics, the Ultradur grades, are polyalkylene terephthalate molding compounds based on PBT, which has been rendered especially easy flowing by means of nanotechnology. The incorporation of special nanoparticles into these plastics accounts for a marked improvement of these products not only in terms of the flow properties but also of the heat-ageing resistance at high temperatures.
