Turkish researchers invent an alternative light source
Abstract:
Bilkent University researchers have replaced Edison's bulbs with an 'adjustable white light' technology.
While Edison's bulbs turn heat into light, nanocrystal diodes produced with nanotechnology turn electricity directly into light. LED (Light Emitting Diode) base light sources will last 23 years and they will change entire automobile lighting systems.
LED based light sources save 90% of energy.
