Notre Dame's slice of stimulus pie: $34.7 million

Abstract:
Since May 2009, Notre Dame has been awarded 32 grants funded by the stimulus measure, mostly for academic research projects, said Robert J. Bernhard, the university's vice president for research. The federal grants total $34,733,800.

Among the other requests funded:

- $10 million for equipment and hiring of about 10 employees at the Midwest Institute for Nanoelectronics Discovery (MIND), a nanotechnology research consortium led by Notre Dame.
