Profile: Viola Vogel

Abstract:
Viola Vogel is the Director of the Center for Nanotechnology, Department of Bioengineering, at the University of Washington in Seattle. She received her doctorate in physics from the Johann-Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany in 1987. She worked for two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California-Berkeley, before accepting a faculty position at the University of Washington. In 1996, she helped create UW's Center for Nanotechnology.
