OPINION SHAPER: Math helps make our world better
Abstract:
Future science, like nanotechnology, robotics, hydrogen cars and space exploration, all require a knowledge of numbers and how to apply them.
You see, math is not about memorizing tedious formulas, it is about understanding and changing our world. Remind your children that video games are not possible without math. When their cell phones ring, comment on using math in wireless technology. And if they watch TV, check their watches or find information on Google, reinforce that math makes all of those tasks viable.
