SpaceWorks Engineering rides on rocket business
Abstract:
SpaceWorks also has studied the economics of space power generation, including establishing propellant depots in space, Charania said. Such depots may be necessary if NASA is to achieve its goal of establishing stations on the moon and on Mars.
There is some industrial interest in future manufacturing opportunities made possible by the weightless environment of orbital space, especially in biotechnology and nanotechnology. That, however, would be a niche market, Charania said, and is years away.
