Nanomix E-noses may point to ailments
Abstract:
Now, Nanomix Inc. in Emeryville and researchers at UC-Berkeley hope their efforts to incorporate sophisticated nanotechnology into their own version of an electronic nose will prove a boon to the medical market.
This week, the venture-funded firm and the Berkeley Olfactory Research Project, led by associate professor Noam Sobel, said they are collaborating to develop an "E-nose" capable of diagnosing diseases, conditions or even metabolic states using a small sample of breath.
