Using the Atomic Staircase for Nanotube Technology
Abstract:
The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rechovot announced this week that a research group headed by Dr. Ernesto Joselevich has developed a new approach to creating patterns of carbon nanotubes. The method involves placing the tubes on atomic-level "steps" of sapphire surfaces, where they tend to automatically arrange themselves along the staggered surface.
