Researchers at National Taiwan University, National Chung Hsing University and China Medical University Hospital, all in Taiwan, have made a pH-controllable molecular switch whose state can be monitored by the naked eye. A solution containing the molecules changed colour from dark green to yellow on the addition of a base.
