UC group has cancer in cross hairs
Abstract:
A consortium composed of the University of California San Diego, the Burnham Institute in La Jolla, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, UC Irvine and six corporate partners has been enlisted to join the fight (against cancer). The consortium will receive about $20 million during the next five years from the National Cancer Institute to develop nanotechnology "bullets" so tiny that 10,000 of them could fit on the head of a pin.
