Budget should advance our innovation agenda

Abstract:
Money for Canada's hard-pressed beef farmers, more funds for defence and foreign aid, sustaining health care, which Prime Minister Paul Martin says is Canada's "Number 1 priority," measures for cities and infrastructure, accelerating plans for early childhood development. As the Throne Speech promised, "the government will create access to capital for the commercialization of science in areas where we can be among the world leaders - in environment, in health, in biotechnology and in nanotechnology.
