Abstract:
Science and technology at the nanoscale is being touted by some as a hot new area that will give rise to new devices with spectacular properties. Others aren't too sure what all the excitement is about - isn't it just ‘spin’ on already well-known science and technology principles? However, major national and international initiatives are now funding projects to develop the ‘new’ field. But what actually constitutes nanoscience or nanotechnology?
