Abstract:
The fifth International Exhibition and Festival on Nanotechnology (Iran Nano 2012) officially started work on Tehran's International Permanent Fairground on Thursday.
Iran's Vice-President for Science and Technology Nasrin Soltankhah and Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Qazanfari attended the inauguration ceremony of the Festival.
Similar to previous years, Iran Nano is due to mark the greatest nanotechnology-related event in the country.
In this year's Festival and Exhibition, the latest achievements in terms of scientific advancement, research output, and industrial development is put on display.
Also, concurrently with Iran Nano 2012, the mass-production of nanotechnology-based products for textile, membrane and filtration industries will be inaugurated.
Several active bodies dedicated to nanotechnology promotion including the Nano Club, technical bookshops, academic centers such as universities and research institutes, as well as nanotechnology incubation companies and 35 nanotech equipment/instruments provider companies are participating in the event.
Iran Nano Forum 2012 (INF 2012), targeting the commercialization of nanotech-based domestic products is being held concurrently with the Iran Nano 2012. The Forum is attended by scholars from 11 countries whose areas of expertise are associated with this emerging technology. As a main topic of the INF 2012, different practical strategies for commercialization of nanotechnology-based products will be reviewed and discussed.
