SouthWest NanoTechnologies given grant for its battery work

Abstract:
SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc. has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Oklahoma Nanotechnology Applications Project to continue advanced material development of its specialty multi-wall carbon nanotubes to be used in automotive and energy storage lithium ion batteries. The manufacturer recently fulfilled grant-funded research enabling it to produce sufficient quantities of its tubes, which now can be used cost effectively for commercial scale applications including fabric reinforced polymer composites, lighting super-capacitors and batteries, Chief Executive Dave Arthur said.
