MBA teams vie at Rice for $285,000 prize

Abstract:
Teams from around the world have converged on the Rice University campus, but no balls have been kicked or thrown.

These teams are out to score big bucks.

The 10th annual Rice University Business Plan Competition, ending today, will award more than $1 million in prize money. The grand prize is at least $285,000, and 42 teams from MBA programs from around the world are vying for it.

For the energy sector, a team from Oklahoma City University and University of Oklahoma — Phoenix Enhanced Oil Recovery — has developed what it describes as more effective nanotechnology for harvesting trapped oil from mature oil reservoirs.
