UTPA receives second commercialization grant from UT System

Abstract:
The University of Texas-Pan American has received another grant from its parent system to devlop ways to commercialize its research in nanotechnology.

The university is one of eight institutions within the University of Texas System that received grants to begin work on taking its ideas from the laboratory to marketable item. UTPA Professor Yaunkun Lin received a $44,000 grant to commercialize technology he developed that simplifies and fastens the fabrication of photonic crystals used in semiconductors.
