Update on nano photovoltaics research

Abstract:
Hello everyone. I wanted to give a quick update on the Nano Photovoltaics work we are doing at GRC. My colleagues, Joleyn Balch, Jody Fronheiser, Dr. Bas Korevaar, Dr. Oleg Sulima, and Dr. Jim Rand, and I just had a paper published in Applied Physics Letters describing our recent demonstration of a silicon nanowire-based solar cell. This work builds on the previous optical properties studies I discussed recently in that it shows a functional large-area device using nanowire arrays with a promising photo-current and broadband external quantum efficiency.
