SA launches two nanotechnology innovation centres

Abstract:
A milestone in the Department of Science and Technology's (DST) nanotechnology strategy was reached on Monday, as two nanotechnology innovation centres (NIC) were launched at the CSIR in Pretoria, aiming to make science work for society.

The NICs are part of the ten-year innovation plan, using nanotechnology to address social and economic challenges in South Africa, and ensure that the country remains competitive with the international research community in this fast-developing field of science.
