Last weekend, IBM Corp. announced a major advance in shrinking the basic building block of computer chips that will allow their performance to continue to double every 12 to 18 months.
Now, the attention shifts to Albany NanoTech, where researchers are developing and adjusting the tools that will enable large-scale production of the chips.
