Having a close look: SAIF gets samples from abroad for analysis

Abstract:
What kind of bacteria is present on the ice-cream that you are eating? Or what material is the sweater that you are wearing made of? Or whether some signatures are forged. From these to cancer-affected tissues, all kinds of samples are brought to the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF), Panjab University for analysis. The answers to the questions can be found by using the technique of electron microscopy.

He added that they had plans to acquire instruments like Atomic Force Microscope in the near future to cater to the needs of researchers in emerging areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
