Transforming Society through Emerging Technologies

Abstract:
Throughout history, new technologies such as the printing press, steam engine, mechanized agriculture, and more recently information technology and biotechnology have transformed human society. The US Nanotechnological Initiative (NNI) is a program designed to improve human society through the application of a new technology with a similar potential. A distinguished Panel will discuss Emerging Technologies issues using the National Nanotechnology Initiative as a case study.
