Metal deposition reveals nanotube defects

Abstract:
Researchers at the University of California at Irvine, US, have come up with an electrochemical technique for highlighting point defects in single-walled carbon nanotubes. They found that high-quality tubes contained an average of one defect for each 4 Ám length of nanotube.
