Houston risks falling behind in nano field

Abstract:
Last year, the National Cancer Institute said it wanted to create several centers of excellence in cancer-nanotechnology research, offering about $4 million a year in funding for each one. But when the Bethesda, Md.-based cancer institute announced it had chosen seven Centers of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence earlier this month, Houston didn't make the cut.
